22-Year-Old Auctions Off Virginity

A couple of weeks ago, a story developed that a 22-year-old, who uses the pseudonym “Natalie Dylan,” intends to auction off her virginity at Nevada’s Moonlight Bunny Ranch, after being turned down by eBay, to pay off her student loans. “I don’t think auctioning my virginity will solve all my problems, but it will create some financial stability,” she said, according to Us magazine. “Through this process I’m not just looking for the highest bidder,” she said. “I’m looking for someone who is a genuine, overall nice person.” Dylan said she is willing to undergo a medical exam, and took a polygraph to prove she is a virgin.

The Lord said, “Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh” (Genesis 2:24). God created a beautiful institution called marriage to fulfill the desires of a sexual nature. This union is intended to be monogamous. The word in the Bible to describe premarital sex is “fornication,” and the Bible has some pretty stern words about this sin. Hebrews 13:4 says, “Marriage is honourable in all, and the bed undefiled: but whoremongers and adulterers God will judge.” “Whoremongers” is translated as “fornication” in newer versions.

I feel sorry for this young woman because one day she will marry a nice man and will regret the decision to not be able to share sexual intimacy with only the man she loves. I feel sorry for her because if she does not repent, the Bible says she will be condemned. I hope that something changes her mind before she goes through with this terrible plan. Sex is a beautiful gift from God, intended only for people who are married.
