On the French Riviera, it is such an important status symbol to have a balcony on an apartment that it is quite common to see balconies painted on the walls of apartment houses.
Spiritual hypocrites are “painted” to appear like a Christian, but God’s people are true, genuine, and without deception (Matthew 23:27-28; Romans 2:1-3). “He that worketh deceit shall not dwell within my house: he that telleth lies shall not tarry in my sight” (Psalm 101:7).
