A Badge of Pride?

A while back, a friend of mine wrote on Facebook, “I must have missed something because apparently ‘living life’ means making every bad decision possible then turning it into a badge of pride.”

Why would someone want to intentionally sin? Proverbs 13:15 says, “Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard.” Why would someone be so prideful about unrighteousness in their life?

David sure did not enjoy making a mess of his life. He wrote, “Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered” (Psalms 32:1). A faithful Christian will put away sin and not be proud of it: “Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof” (Romans 6:12).
