Sociologist Carle Zimmerman, in his book, Family and Civilization, studied the disintegration of various cultures and suggested eight specific patterns of domestic behavior which were indicative of societal decline in our time. One of the patterns included an increasing interest in and spread of sexual perversions and sex-related crimes.

People in America, Italy, and Britain were shocked to learn of the death of a British woman, Meredith Kercher, on November 2, 2007 in an apartment in Italy which was also occupied by a young American woman and two Italian men.

Officials believe that she suffered an agonizingly slow death after refusing to perform a sexual act. As heartbreaking as this story is, it illustrates how people will “grow worse and worse” (2 Timothy 3:13). May God give us strength in dark times!
