One Thousand Days

Long ago the sons of Korah said, “For a day in Your courts is better than a thousand. I would rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God Than dwell in the tents of wickedness” (Psalm 84:10).

This morning, as you’re hopefully preparing for worship, what is your attitude? Do you feel like the sons of Korah? Would you rather spend one day in the sanctuary of God than one thousand days somewhere else?

If your heart isn’t prepared, then stop and really consider what you’re about to do. Set aside some time to read a brief Bible passage and offer a small prayer to God for focus and concentration.

Then go and encourage your brothers and sisters by offering heartfelt worship, spending each moment in a determined effort to gain as much spiritual enlightenment as you can.

At that point, you’ll see why the sons of Korah would rather spend a day with God than a thousand somewhere else. Join us at the Loop 287 Church of Christ (1911 S John Redditt Drive, Lufkin, Texas) this morning at 9:00 a.m. as we spend our day with God.
