Religious Relativity vs. Religious Clarity #2

Some tell us that all religions are equal. They say the religion of Buddha and Mohammed are just as valid as the religion of Christ. However, this contradicts the inspired Word of God. Christ’s religion is the only true religion (Jn. 14:6). Yet, there is great diversity among those who believe Jesus is Lord. Are all of the groups who claim Christ equally valid?

The Mormons say that there is “another revelation of Jesus Christ,” the Book of Mormon. They claim it was discovered by Joseph Smith in the direction of an angel. Paul said, “But even if we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel to you than what we have preached to you, let him be accursed” (Gal. 1:8). The Mormons also teach that man will be married in the afterlife. Jesus said there is no marriage in the resurrection (Matt. 22:30). Is the religion of Joseph Smith the religion of Christ? No!

The Watchtower Bible and Tract Society, “Jehovah’s Witnesses,” teaches that Jesus was made by God. The Bible declares Jesus made all things, “and without Him, nothing was made that was made” (Jn. 1:3). J.W.s also teaches that some men will live on earth forever. The Bible says the earth will be burned up and “the elements will melt with fervent heat” (2 Pet. 3:10-12). The Watchtower Society also says a man has no eternal spirit, no soul. Jesus rebuked the Sadducees for taking this position, stating that God is a God of the living, not the dead (Matt. 22:23-32). Is the religion of the Watchtower Society the religion of Christ? No!

Both the Mormon church and the Watchtower Bible and Tract Society are false religions. Though they seek to attach themselves to Christ, they only pay lip-service to Him because they “teach as doctrines the commandments of men” (Matt. 15:7-9). The Lord said such will be uprooted (Matt. 15:13). In other words, those who follow these false religions are doomed (Matt. 7:21-23). The Bible is clear about that, we should be too.
