“Sing and be Happy”

There’s probably not a lot to feel happy about today: fears over a virus, lost work, lost wages, financial troubles, etc. But there is always a God in heaven. He wants you to sing and be happy, for glorifying Him is a great way to use this day.

The book of Psalms has a lot to say about expressing yourself in song. Psalm 86:12 says, “I will praise You, O Lord my God, with all my heart, And I will glorify Your name forevermore.” Psalm 104:33-34 adds, “I will sing to the Lord as long as I live; I will sing praise to my God while I have my being. May my meditation be sweet to Him; I will be glad in the Lord.”

Colossians 3:16 says, “Let the word of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom, teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord.” When you sing, you’re teaching someone else to glorify God too.

Wherever you are, spend some of your time singing psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs to God. Hebrews 13:15 reads, “Therefore by Him let us continually offer the sacrifice of praise to God, that is, the fruit of our lips, giving thanks to His name.” Singing will lift your heart and you’ll lift the hearts of others too.
