The Deity of Christ: Conclusion

What do you think of Christ? How do you view His claims and deeds? Was He merely another man? Was He a lunatic? Was He a madman? Or was He the Son of God (John 20:28)? Peter answered Jesus and said, “Lord, to whom shall we go? thou hast the words of eternal life” (John 6:68). Since the nature of Jesus is so unique, we cannot understand the depth of someone being fully God and fully man. There are some aspects of the gospel wherein we must “walk by faith, not by sight” (2 Corinthians 5:7). This is truly a part of the mystery of godliness relating to our Savior (cp. 1 Timothy 3:16).

John said, “And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world” (1 John 4:3). The “antichrist” is not some future, satanic figure who will rule the world during the “Tribulation.” It is anyone who does not believe in the deity of Christ!

If He is the Son of God, He has all authority in heaven and on earth (Matthew 28:19); He is head of the church (Ephesians 1:22-23); and He is to judge the quick and the dead (Acts 17:30-31; John 5:28-29). Choose ye this day (Joshua 24:15)! Jesus said, “I said therefore unto you, that ye shall die in your sins: for if ye believe not that I am he, ye shall die in your sins” (John 8:24). Consider the facts and obey Him!
