You Must Confess to Be Saved

The Holy Spirit revealed, “that if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation” (Romans 10:9-10). Hence, belief in Christ alone is insufficient.

Some Jews believed in Jesus but were unwilling to confess Him (Jn. 12:42-43). Such men will lose their souls. Jesus said, “… whoever confesses Me before men, him the Son of Man also will confess before the angels of God. But he who denies Me before men will be denied before the angels of God” (Luke 12:8-9).

The Ethiopian eunuch serves as an example of confession leading unto salvation. He was taught Jesus and asked what stopped him from being baptized (Acts 8:35-36). Philip told him he must believe, then the Eunuch confessed, was baptized and went on his way rejoicing (Acts 8:37-38). Have you followed this example? If you wish to study this more, contact us.
